she's a lady

The longer hemline, voluminous skirt and cinched waist creates a ladylike silhouette reminiscent of Louis Vuitton's Fall 2010 Ready-to Wear collection. I am loving the way this girl has managed to take every possible current trend (i.e. khaki, stripes, fur, etc.) and perfectly put them together without looking overdone.

chanel spring 2011 campaign

Chanel's spring 2011 campaign has quite the rock 'n roll vibe, this new take on the classic tweed is so young and fresh and definitely appealing to a younger clientele (not that it doesn't already appeal to any and every age group!). Those motorcycle boots are fabulous and pairing them with this spring's tweed suit is classy with the right amount of edge. Ahh to be inside Karl Lagerfeld's mind... he never disappoints!

add some flare

Move over skinnies, flared jeans are back! This is a look I quickly identify with Rachel Zoe. I can't wait to find the one pair of wide leg jeans left in my closet (likely collecting dust because it's been quite a while) and change it up this spring with new proportions à la That 70's Show.

By the way, Rachel Zoe's black Givenchy bag..... BA-NANAS!! :)

pretty in pink

Pink has made a comeback as a mature color to be worn at all ages. This look is a perfect alternative to your typical black, gray or navy suit. Although it would take a certain level of confidence to pull off a pink suit I would def rock it!! It looks amazing, this girl (first look) is so chic especially with the jacket worn over her shoulders --> perfection!
The second look is from Zara (yes I love it there) I am looking forward to my next visit hopefully I'll be leaving with a new pink suit to wear in the spring :)

PS doesn't all this color excite you for the spring/summer season!?!?!

mod mini

This past season camel has become the new go to staple and pairing it with black can make your ensemble an instant classic. The first look is so simple yet perfectly put together and that camel sweater looks so chic and cozy!

fall 2011 ready-to-wear - alexander wang

My favorite looks from Alexander Wang's Fall 2011 Ready-to-Wear collection.
BEST: the nude toned wool coats with fur and satin detailing creates a rich gorgeous look.
FAVE: black coat with fur trim, chunky knit sweater and blue confetti pants --> absolutely obsessed with this look!

new additions - luxe vs. less

Kenneth Jay Lane 22-karat gold-plated bib necklace
available on Net-a-Porter $600

Kenneth Jay Lane

Forever 21 bracelet $9.80

While online browsing I came across this fabulous Kenneth Lane 22-karat gold-plated bib necklace (available on net-a-porter), great for spring and sure to dress up any outfit! It reminds me of something Wilma from the Flintstones would wear circa 2011. During a recent trip to Forever 21 (student friendly shopping :)) I was inspired to purchase the bracelet above (also available in jade) to recreate the fresh girly look of the Kenneth Lane necklace.
Final verdict on Luxe vs. Less --> Obsessed with the Kenneth Lane necklace but am also totally happy with my new purchase! Guilt-free addition to my accessories and spring wardrobe

PS Check out this dream worthy piece my best friend Catherine posted on my wall. None other than Chanel. Thoughts?

add some length

Although this look may not be feasible due to the unbearable Montreal weather (slush, snow, rain, etc). We can admire this look of long flowy dresses paired with outerwear -romantic, sophisticated and chic.

love, chloe

My new perfume Love,Chloe is a powdery floral scent perfect for both day and night. Described as chic, sensual and sophisticated the bottle portrays this perfectly with its simple elegance (love the gold chain that attaches the cap to the bottle). One of my girlfriends went crazy for this perfume the other day and told me she couldn't stop smelling me (in a good way!). Although perfume doesn't always smell the same on everyone, I suggest you at least take a sniff of this lovely fragrance the next time you're out shopping.

color blocking

Pierre Hardy $1470

Zara $129

Above is Zara's take on the Pierre Hardy Color Block Heels. The Pierre Hardy's retail for $1470 while Zara's go for $129 - HUGE difference. Zara is a great place to find designer inspired pieces without the expen$ive price tag however I am never against a splurge here and there.
Final verdict on luxe vs. less --> The original Pierre Hardy's are far more beautiful (in color and detail) especially in comparison to Zara's version but if you can't live without the Zara heels once you try them on I would encourage you to get them anyways, they'll be really fun for the summer time.

luxurious warmth

Since it's quite possibly the coldest and snowiest (not sure if that's a real word) week of winter, I figured why not post the warmest garment an individual could own... furrrr darling! OK so these photos don't quite scream warm coco by the fire place BUT can we all agree that Daria is both stunning and wuuurking it?! :)

Speaking of fur, I bought a great oversized faux fur vest at Zara over the weekend. Stay tuned will post pictures soon
