long live McQueen

The Met's Costume Institute will be showcasing an exhibition in honour of the late Alexander McQueen. The exhibition, titled Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty, will celebrate McQueen's work from his graduate collection at Central St. Martins to his final collection which was presented shortly after his death. Alexander McQueen's ability to transform fashion and design into avant-garde art through his craftsmanship and visual presentations will be greatly missed, his vision and talent will forever be remembered through his unique masterpieces.
The exhibition is scheduled to run from May 4 to July 31, for more details click here

designer decor

Alexander Wang welcomed W magazine to his home and gave a full tour of his Tribeca loft
(for more photos + full article click here)
I'm a huge fan of the predominantly black decor, it gives the space a luxe elegance much like Wang's fall 2011 ready-to-wear collection (here + here)

queen bee

I'll admit I can be extremely squeamish the moment a bee, spider or any creepy crawly is within close proximity however I wouldn't mind having one of these striking creatures buzzing around more often. These over-the-top pieces are from Lanvin's Spring/Summer 2011 line and sold out everywhere!

PS sorry for being so MIA lately, I've been studying for finals/finishing up my last few courses of university...ever!!! I won't lie I'm a tad panicked the excitement has yet to kick in. I'm trying (key word trying) to stay positive, optimistic and calm about entering a new stage in my life.

quelques choses - suno

I checked out Suno's site yesterday and had to share these three looks. The print, color and detail of the first look is just fabulous, I want it!!! I've been daydreaming about this dress all day. The jumpsuit is one of those pieces you can throw on and instantly look put together without much effort. Suno has amazing color and prints throughout their entire collection, go check out their site asap for some online shopping or simply some spring/summer wardrobe inspiration.

his & hers

Ultimate his & her street style blogger/photographer/power couple Scott Schuman of The Sartorialist and Garance DorĂ©. I absolutely adore their work and secretly hope to be featured on either blog one day, however I doubt it would happen during my current exam mode wardrobe --> outfit staples include black leggings, American Apparel t-shirt, comfy cardigan AND a bag (much too heavy to be carrying around) filled with text books, tutorial course packs, notebooks, agenda (never leave home without it), laptop, chargers etc. I love how this post when from power couple to school wardrobe and course load I'm clearly stressed out and need to get back to studying.

UPDATE:
There's a great Q&A interview with Garance on Jay Z's lifestyle site which you can read here. Also loving the layout of Jay's life+times site it's so well done but did we really expect anything less from the man who's always one step ahead?
